PILOTAGE PRE-PLANNING GUIDE
5. Disembarking Pilot
5.1. At the end of the pilotage
The Pilot will notify the OOW well in advance of the completion of the pilotage,
and the upcoming disembarkation of the Pilot(s). The pilot boat and the Pilot/Master
will agree on the disembarkation arrangements. This plan will be shared with
the Bridge team.
5.2. Before the Pilot disembark
The Master must sign a receipt for the pilot service provided. The receipt to be signed
is an electronic form kept on the Pilot’s Portable Pilot Unit (PPU), and requires
only an on-screen signature, no stamp.
Pilotage will end in the same way as it begins; with a Master/Pilot Information
Exchange and handover. The Pilot will make sure that you, as master is aware of
present surroundings, all upcoming dangers if any, and how you should proceed.
If the Pilot is provided with the e-mail address of the vessel or the Master, a copy of
the receipt will be returned instantaneously.
Please feel free to report any comments you may have concerning the pilotage directly
